The recipes are another way to get resources. You can access the recipes through your materials.
There are two different types of recipes: basic and event. The basic ones stay there, but change slightly. The event ones only come with certain events. The event recipes vary depending on the event. I would recommend reading the tips posted in the tip room to see what you need to get and how to get the materials to make the recipes. During these events, you'll gain trophes. These will help you make the recipes. It is recommended to use all of your trophies before the event ends. You get them be rewards on various events. If you have any left over, you can trade them for Trader's scrip. This is another thing used in recipes. For the basic recipes, you need the Braavosi Iron Square, Volantine Honor, and, Meereenese Honor.

Heres how you get these materials:
Braavosi Iron Square - Can only be earned through events or purchased in packs
Volantine Honor- Can be earned through events or purchased with gold
Meereenese Honor - Can be earned through events or purchased with gold

Recipes are evolving and some have been added or expanded. Here I will go through the basic recipes and the newer types of recipes and what you may need for them.
I'll start with the Basic Recipes. These are Traders Scripts recipes. They use trophies from monthly events to create Trader Scripts that you then can trade for basic rss like food, wood, iron or stone. Trader Scripts are used along with the Coins mentioned above (Volentene, Mereneese or Braavosi) to obtain the basic resources.

The next type are the Caravan recipes. These trade one resource for another. These use the Writ (scroll thing) as the trade along with the resource you wish to purchase. These typically are coupled with the weekly caravan events and so their time available depends on those daily caravans. The next type are the Caravan recipes. These trade one resource for another. Next is the event recipes. These use coins as well as the event trophies to obtain crafting materials. These could include chests of random crafting materials in various quality, the advanced mat for that months gear, ports, fragments, keystone's, pale steel and other various rewards. These type of recipes are usually coupled with an event for points. As with all recipes the blue exclamation point on the emblem means you have the materials to craft at least one of those items. The insight events (shown below) use flux from that gear season in order to trade for it.

Finally are Kings Justice recipes. These are instant boosts and use the skull trophy obtained by defeating those big gold elite dudes. These boosts are fairly short lived and take a lot of trophies so they are costly and depend on the person as to whether they are valuable to you.

Some recipes are event points and therefore those are the ones definitely worth doing. After the end of the month the trophies for that month can be converted into Traders Scripts which are good for basic resource recipes. If you have tons of food (or another rss) you can also trade for the caravan recipes in order to get brick, steel, fragments or pine. Keep in mind that these particular caravan recipes take alot of the basic rss in order to obtain the reward.
